Your oral health will be thoroughly evaluated during your visit in order to develop a customized treatment plan that works best for you.
BEFORE APPOINTMENT:
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early before your scheduled appointment to check in, update personal information, and sign any necessary documentation. Also, please bring with you a current medication list and your dental insurance card if possible.
When you arrive at our office, you will have very little wait time in our lobby and will be offered a complementary beverage.
DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT:
After check in, our dental assistants/hygienists will escort you to your operatory room and ask you if you need any additional items to help you feel at home in our office (e.g. blanket, tv show, music, etc). Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will visit with you and answer any questions you may have before your procedure. All our rooms are cleaned just for you!
*When you schedule your appointment, you can request nitrous oxide (aka “laughing gas”) or conscious oral sedation during your treatment if you are feeling extra anxious about your visit.
At the start of your appointment, your medical history and any current dental concerns will be reviewed. As part of your comprehensive visit, dental x-rays are then taken with your consent to check for problems not apparent by visual inspection alone. Keeping your oral health at its best is our number one priority.
DENTAL HYGIENE APPOINTMENTS:
Your hygienist will perform a periodontal (soft tissue) evaluation followed by a thorough cleaning to remove any plaque or calculus that may have built up since your last visit. Finally, your teeth will be polished and flossed. If needed, Dr. Low will review any x-rays and perform a periodic exam to check for decay and infection, as well as perform an oral cancer screening. You will leave with a goodie bag of oral hygiene items, including a new toothbrush to keep those teeth sparkling until your next 6 month appointment.
DENTAL EXAMS:
Whether you have an exam at our office for an isolated problem or a comprehensive evaluation, Dr. Low will take time to get to know you and listen to your concerns. Dr. Low will check your teeth and gums carefully and assess your x-rays. If necessary, he will discuss treatment needed to keep your oral health at its very best.
An official treatment plan will be printed and any clinical or financial questions will be addressed. We can often provide same day treatment or you can schedule an appointment at a later date before leaving the office. It is always best to take care of your dental health when problems are initially found so they do not progress and cause further problems and additional treatment.
